Megan Bomgaars, a Denver youth with Down Syndrome delivers an unforgettable message of “Don’t Limit Me!” This is a message that we all need to remember as we raise our young adults with Down Syndrome.

I know that my own son, Ben, has surprised me every step of the way even from an early age. Once, when he was only 4 years old,  I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with our VCR player. He came up to me and said “I can do it” in a way that only his mother would understand…. and fixed it with the push of a sequence of buttons!  Then, just a year later when we got our first (real) computer, I never thought he would have the eye-hand control to use the mouse-especially at only 5 years old. Wrong again! He loved the many educational games that Jump Start put out.

Well, as you can imagine, it’s only continued since then. Now, at (almost) 22 years old, he wants his own restaurant more than anything – (well almost anything….he would like to fall in love and get married someday-asap!). Of course, he knows that to earn enough money to make that happen, he needs to work to earn the money. (and pray!)

I appreciate this video and admire young Megan for all that it must have taken to produce that video. It will surely inspire many!
